In the first quarter of 2021, Australian Android users interacted with convenience store applications in varying degrees, showcasing the ebb and flow of app usage within the sector. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a look into how these apps fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.

My 7-Eleven started the quarter with a strong download count of around 5K, peaking at 6.5K in mid-January, but then observed a downward trend to stabilize at around 4.4K by the end of March. The weekly active users showed a more positive trajectory, increasing from 55K to nearly 65K in the first few weeks, followed by fluctuations and a final rise to around 64K.

The OTR App - Coffee & Fuel Deals experienced a more modest download count, with a peak of approximately 456 in mid-January before a gradual decline to just over 200 by the end of the quarter. Unfortunately, data on weekly active users for the OTR App was not available.

NightOwl Aus downloads showed a slight increase early in the quarter, achieving a high of nearly 400 downloads in late January, but a dip in March brought the numbers down to around 255. Active user data for NightOwl Aus was also missing from the report.

The 7-Eleven Mobile Checkout app had its highest download number in mid-January at over 400, but like the others, it saw a decreasing trend, ending the quarter with downloads hovering around the 150 mark. Weekly active user data was not provided for this app either.

Lastly, 7-Eleven TH saw a notable peak of 404 downloads in the third week of January. Following this surge, the app's downloads showed an overall decline, with week-on-week fluctuations settling at around 155 by the quarter's close. The weekly active users for 7-Eleven TH started at 2K, peaked at 2.4K, and ended the quarter with a slight increase to just over 2K.
